WISDOM TOOTH EXTRACTION

Wisdom teeth or third molars are the last permanent teeth to erupt in the mouth. These teeth usually appear between the ages of 17 and 25.

Most of the time, the wisdom teeth don’t have enough room to erupt in the mouth and are thus impacted. Impacted wisdom teeth may cause following problems :

• Pain.
• Food impaction / lodgment.
• Infection/ gum disease.
• Decay.
• Damage to adjacent tooth.
• Cyst.

Due to the above problems, the wisdom teeth are generally removed. Wisdom tooth extraction is done by an oral surgeon.
